The Herbalife Nutrition Foundation (HNF) has added two more Casa Herbalife Nutrition global partners, continuing its’ mission to help improve the lives of children and communities around the world. HNF announced their new partnership with Hope Mission Welfare Society, also known as Pertubuhan Kebajikan Misi Harapan, in Malaysia and Peter Pan ODV in Rome, both which support the needs of families and children in need.
Hope Mission Welfare Society – First Casa in the Northern Region of Malaysia
Located in Teluk Intan, Perak, Hope Mission Welfare Society was established in 2008 and houses more than 30 children ages five to 18. HNF issued a grant of over $18,000 to help support the Casa in empowering the children with good dietary habits through balanced and nutritious meals, along with nutrition education programs.
“We are pleased to expand this program with Hope Mission Welfare Society as our fourth partner in Malaysia, particularly as the home is in need of financial support as a result of the challenges of the pandemic and rising cost of living,” said Steven Chin, Senior Director & General Manager of Malaysia, and Singapore. “Establishing our first Casa Herbalife Nutrition partner in the Northern region will allow us to mobilise our more than 20,000 Northern members to participate in programs that will encourage the children to adopt healthy and active lifestyles.”
To date, HNF supports more than 120 children from four homes under the Casa Herbalife Nutrition program in Malaysia. This includes Hope Mission Welfare Society, Good Samaritan Home in Klang, the Amitabha Charity Orphanage in Johor Bahru, and Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Yatim/Miskin Rukaiyah in Kajang.
Peter Pan ODV – Rome
HNF partnered with Peter Pan ODV (Organizzazione di Volontariato) to help provide healthy nutrition and housing support for families with children who are undergoing cancer treatment at nearby hospitals. Set up in 2020 by parents whose children were being treated for cancer, the houses at Peter Pan ODV meet an essential need for many families who have had to drop everything to relocate to Rome for their child’s medical treatment.
The partnership will help families and children receive a healthy and nutritious diet, provide healthy nutrition though training courses and cookery workshops, and help renew some of the electrical appliances in the shared kitchens at Peter Pan ODV.
“We’re very pleased to be part of the Casa Herbalife Nutrition program and we are deeply grateful to HNF for its support,” says Roberto Mainiero, President of Peter Pan ODV. “A healthy diet is an important factor in coping with long cancer therapies, as are the kitchens in our houses where the preparation and consumption of daily meals creates moments of fun, sharing and mutual support between children and families during the difficult course of treatment.”
In addition to Casa Herbalife Peter Pan, HNF also supports Casa Oz in Italy and SOS Village in Ostuni.
