President’s Team member Sara Alfaro from Mexico is the recipient of Herbalife Nutrition Foundation (HNF) 2016 Global Humanitarian Award.
“It is my great pleasure to present Sara with the 2016 Humanitarian Award,” says HNF Executive Director Robyn Browning. “Her extraordinary commitment and dedication to children in need exemplify the mission of HNF while inspiring others to lend their support.”
Sara has been an Independent Herbalife Member since 1993, the year she was inspired by the passion of Herbalife Founder and First Member Mark Hughes (1956–2000) to help others, especially children. Ever since, she has dedicated herself to following in his footsteps and helping to improve people’s lives. Sara has made a name for herself at Herbalife, consistently appearing as a top donor to the Casa Herbalife Program. Along with her generosity, one of Sara’s most notable traits is her ability to rally support for Casa Herbalife programs, including reaching out to family, friends and others who are interested in helping out. Those who know her best say that her enthusiasm is contagious and that she is gifted at motivating people to follow in her path and offer their help.
The outstanding support Sara provides extends to economically-challenged children in her home city of Ciudad Obregon, where she makes regular visits to El Refugio del Corazón de María, IAP, a school for children who come from challenging family backgrounds and are at a high risk for homelessness. In addition to bringing food, supplies and an abundance of love for the children, she also invites her friends and family to join her in helping out and creating social awareness around the children’s needs. “Sara is a shining example of leadership and devotion, who has dutifully contributed to the mission of HNF, as well as other organizations in Mexico,” says Jesus Alvarez Torres, Vice President and Managing Director Mexico, “I am certain that as the 2016 Humanitarian Award winner, she will be an even greater source of motivation to Herbalife Members in our country and around the world.”
HNF awards the Humanitarian Award honor to Independent Herbalife Members who exemplify the Foundation’s mission and, through outstanding involvement and dedication, have made a significant contribution to changing lives. Nominations are received from around the world and are evaluated based on the nominee’s philanthropic activity, community leadership, volunteerism and advocacy. In appreciation of their tremendous commitment, HNF is donating US$10,000 in Sara’s name to her charity of choice. Herbalife congratulates Sara for her inspiring dedication to helping children¬.
HNF would also like to commend the altruistic efforts of the 2016 Regional Humanitarian winners from around the world.
